Angel Notion & Dreams to Reality - Playa Mexico 2008 Christmas

The Kiser Family Christmas vacation in Cancun and Playa Mexico, spending time with the special needs school and the non profit heart clinic. The Gathering Sunday School class of First Baptist Church San Antonio provided funds to give the Special Needs kids of Playa Christmas gifts. Also, the Kiser Family, Gensheimer's, and Munro family gave funds to help the heart clinic patients receive operations. These are pictures and video of both events.

The countdown to Christmas is on. Stores are already advertising how many days left to shop never mind the fact that we have not yet celebrated Halloween or Thanksgiving (which is one of my favorite holidays.) If you ask this age group for a list especially by using an ad or browsing through the store, the child will most likely pick out anything and everything he or she sees. A really funny thing would be to ask the three year a few days later what he or she wanted to see if they remember any of it.

I would suggest that you take a minute to think about what the child really enjoys and how he/she already plays. Then expand your gift list from there.

Here are a few tips when considering your gift giving.

Tip #1: Good old fashion creative playtime

Kids love to be kids, which means playing, jumping, and imagining. Creative play is very important for childhood development and joy. Me playing Icicle Works on Commodore Plus/4 - 1985 This review was requested by some youtube users so I thought I'll do them the favour and do a short video review on Icicle Works. The aim of the game: As Santa you have to collect in each level all christmas gifts which are scattered around on the north pole. Watch the time limit and falling giant snowballs not to hit you! On the next levels polar bears and penguins keep chasing you. As soon as you have collected one gift completely you can skip to the next room by entering a door at the side of the screen. To be fair, this game is not really bad but there are some things that really pisses me off. First of all, the sound! The sound is so annoying it really drives me crazy! Next the game has a very hard gameplay. Man, this game was made for kids! Have mercy! And finally the story: On which planet does this take place? Have you ever heard about penguins living together with polar bears on the same (north) pole? What is next? Maybe Godzilla lives there too? Anyway, for it's time it was a good game. If you like these "Rockman" style games then give Icicle Works a try. Ah yes, you need 64 KB RAM to get this masterpiece fired up.
